Anti-LCN1 Antibody, clone 10B10 is a highly specific mouse monoclonal antibody, that targets Lipocalin & has been tested in western blotting, IHC & Immunofluorescence.
General description
Lipocalin-1 or alternatively known as Tear lipocalin (Tlc), Tear prealbumin (TP) or Von Ebner gland protein (VEG) is encoded by the human gene named LCN1/VEGP and expressed in the salivary and lachrymal glands as well as prostate tissue, but recent research has also shown LCN1 to be produced by other glandular tissues such as the pituitary gland. Lipocalin-1 is part of a larger lipocalin protein family of extracellular proteins and shares the ability to bind hydrophobic ligands and lipids but LCN1 also has other abilities such as being an inhibitor of cysteine proteinases and thus plays a role in the control of inflammation. LCN1 also seems to be important in taste utilization and plays a role in the non-immunological defense against micro-organisms and viruses in the eye and mouth. EMD-Millipore's Anti-LCN1 mouse monoclonal antibody has been tested in western blot against HEK293 transfected LCN1 lysates and in paraffin embedded immunohistochemistry on human prostate tissue sections and in fluorescent immunocytochemistry on transfected HEK293 cells in culture.
Immunogen
Purified recombinant fragment of human LCN1 expressed in E. Coli.
Quality
Evaluated by Western Blotting in HEK293 and LCN1-hIgGFc transfected HEK293 cell lysates.
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:500-2,000 dilution of this antibody detected LCN1-hIgGFc in LCN1-hIgGFc transfected HEK293 cell lysate.
Target description
~52 kDa observed. Uncharacterized bands may appear in some lysate(s).
